IOWA & MISSOURI CLINIC GUIDELINES
We will present a track & field clinic on Saturday, March 5, 2005, for coaches, athletes
and parents from the Midwest in the south Kansas City area at
MidAmerica Nazarene.
This clinic will be a ‘learning by doing’ clinic.
We found after speaking with the Activities
Associations for Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska
that the only time that athletes and
coaches could go to a clinic together was after the season had started but before
competition had begun.
In order to get optimal benefit for participants we are holding
the clinic on March 5th to benefit the most people.   More importantly, the only way that
athletes that will be competing for their school will be allowed to attend the clinic is if
they have at least one of their coaches present.
Coaches, athletes and parents will have a truly unique opportunity to learn many of
the skills that T&F Olympians have developed to be better performers both mentally
and physically!  The Olympians and coaches that will be presenting at the clinic will
be teaching you fundamental skills that it will take to get you to the next level in a
manner that will be easily understood and implemented.  Coaches, athletes and parents
will have the opportunity to develop these skills by participating in this truly unique
learning environment.  You will also have the opportunity to develop workouts that are
appropriate for a particular athlete by taking into consideration both their training and
chronological ages.
Coaches from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska will be able to count this as their
mandatory attendance at a rules interpretation meeting if you choose to attend that part
of the clinic.
All areas of track and field will be covered with an introduction given to the multi-events
as well as other collegiate events.  You are encouraged to dress appropriately if you
wish to participate in activities such as drills.
The cost of the day long clinic will be $75 for coaches & parents and $40 for athletes.
Schools that have 10 or more athletes and coaches register will be charged $60 for
coaches and $30 for athletes.  Registration at the door will be an additional $10.  The cost
will include the noon meal.  Several door prizes will be given out to the coaches.  There
will be an autograph session where athletes and coaches can have their pictures taken
with the clinicians that will include numerous Olympians.
 Clinic notes will be provided
for all those whose registration is received by March 1st.
Again, please note that those athletes that will be representing their school this track
season will not be allowed to attend without one of their coaches present.
NOTE:  Please pass this information on to any coach, athlete or parent that might be
interested.
